Gear Up! The Tools of the Ghosts

10/13/2016 06:00 PM

The Ghosts are known to be able to use each and every tool to their advantage on the battleground.

In Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Wildlands, you won’t be able to rely solely on your weapons to carry you through your missions. You also have a large arsenal of tools compatible with whichever playstyle suits you.

Whether you prefer to infiltrate a camp or make everything blow up along the way, you should be able to use the proper tools to interact with your environment.

The Ghosts begin their missions with an extensive arsenal, allowing you to adapt to any situation. You will be able to improve your tools and unlock new features throughout your progression.

Binoculars are part of the basic package of any elite soldier. Simple to use and equipped with a powerful 3x zoom, they allow you to identify enemies and interactive elements from afar. Thanks to night vision, you will also be able to recon in low light conditions and plan your attack at any time. Upgrades are available to not only increase the zoom, but also to unlock thermal vision to detect heat sources and better follow your targets.

Although binoculars are really effective for recon, your new best friend in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will certainly be the drone. Not only does the drone give you access to the same basic functionalities as binoculars, but you will also be able to master its mobility to better explore your environment and go through windows and other obstacles. Of course, there are limits to the use of this tool, not only due to the duration of its battery but also the strength of the signal. Your drone is not completely stealth, and if you get too close to your enemies, you might activate the alarm.

You will be able to upgrade many aspects of the drone as well as unlock new exclusive features such as night and thermal vision. You will also be able to activate EMP detonations to disable nearby electronics and vehicles, perfect for shutting down alarm towers. The drone will also be able to deliver bombs so that you can make everything blow without ever leaving your recon spot!

Don’t worry, the drone is not the only explosive at your disposal. The Ghosts have access to the must-haves, such as frag grenades, to blow away enemy targets. You will also be able to use C-4, remote-detonated high explosives, to cause large amounts of damage and create a nice firework. This can be supported with some nicely positioned mines on the road to ensure your extraction.

Finally, diversion grenades will allow you to destabilize your enemies, whether it be through a distracting noise or flashbang disorientation, and flares are at your disposal to attract enemies to your position.

These are just some of the tools of the Ghosts. Whichever approach you choose, you should always take these tools into consideration. Gear up!

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will be available on March 7, 2017, for PlayStation®4 system, Xbox One, and PC.
